Executive Director – NASTT


Matthew has been active in the trenchless technology industry since the late 1980s, serving in senior sales and business development roles with equipment manufacturers. He has presented papers globally and contributed to the development of accredited training courses and international standards.
As Past Chairman of the United Kingdom Society of Trenchless Technology (UKSTT) and his activity as the Vice-Chairman of the International Society of Trenchless Technology (ISTT) he has a broad base of experience and knowledge.
Since joining NASTT in 2020 as Executive Director he is responsible for the organization’s strategic direction, operations, and industry engagement.
Based in Seattle, outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, stamp collecting and traveling. Previously a professional soccer match-official, he supports Tottenham Hotspur and loves visiting sports stadiums around the world!

Additionally reviewed are emerging innovations that enhance efficiency, reduce operating costs, and minimize environmental impact. Finally, it discusses the broader implementation of these advancements and their availability to the global market, offering insights into the future of trenchless technology worldwide.

The mission and activities of the North American Society for Trenchless Technology.

In 2025, NASTT proudly celebrates its 35th anniversary. This presentation provides an overview of the association’s mission, programs, and growth in advancing trenchless technology across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It highlights NASTT’s role in education, training, networking, and career development while also exploring global opportunities through collaboration with the International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT).
