Since 2004, he has headed the newly established and organised Department of Roads and Bridges at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Zielona Góra. Member of the Senate of the University of Zielona Góra. He has published over 200 works including, over 11 monographs of recommendations and guidelines applicable in our country in the field of transport infrastructure. He is the author of dozens of opinions and reports on research works including innovative technologies and materials. In addition, he has prepared many expert opinions on the exploited objects with the indication of their repair methods.  He has introduced into general engineering practice (roads and bridges) modern technologies in the field of testing as well as repair of structural concrete (in road and bridge structures), waterproofing and expansion joints, elements of bridge and road equipment, culvert structures and ground-coating eco-bridges for the construction of road traffic routes. He was a member of the Governing Board of the Certification Body for Construction Products in the field of traffic engineering in road and bridge construction. He has extensive teaching experience and has been involved in the organisation of numerous seminars, courses, trainings and conferences in the field of road and bridge engineering (e.g. chief organiser of the Żmigród road and bridge conferences). He has been an expert of the European Union for surface transport for many years until now, currently in the H2020 programmes. He is a member of many national and international scientific and technical societies (PZiTB, ZMRP, IABSE, ASCE). Holds building qualifications, both design and execution including bridges.
